Forbes North Public School is one of two primary schools in the community that are actively ensuring high levels of learning and wellbeing for students. Forbes North Public School, 2024 enrolment of 230, is located on the lands of the Wiradjuri people in the Central West of New South Wales. Forbes is located an hour and 10 minutes from the regional centre of Orange. Approximately 49% of the school’s student population identify with an Aboriginal Heritage. As a result, the school has a strong alignment with the Forbes local AECG.
The school has recently undertaken a School Development Review with the result being a clearly defined future direction. The current Strategic Improvement Plan places a focus on quality teaching, reading and numeracy.
Forbes North Public School is a focal point of the community with many strong linkages including increasingly strong collaborative partnerships with Forbes High School and Forbes Public School. The school is proud of the burgeoning partnerships that exists between home and the school. A strong relationship has been formed with an energetic Parent & Citizens Association consisting of parents, caregivers and the wider community. In partnership with the Schools as Community Centre, the school offers several parent education classes to help parents and caregivers engage more fully with their child's learning, both at school and at home.

- Evidence of expertise to confidently lead the school community through the implementation of the findings from the recent Development Review in partnership with staff and the community.
- Demonstrated evidence of strong, collaborative, visible and strategic leadership that will ensure the continual development of an academically focused whole school achievement culture.
- Demonstrated evidence of success creating positive and continually improving learning cultures through the implementation of strong and clear wellbeing and behaviour systems.
- Evidence of being a highly approachable and visible leader who can further develop a genuine culture of inclusion and authentic connections with parents, staff and the wider community.
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex Public School focused on the delivery of high-quality education.
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs.
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community.
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning.
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning.
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P2 for 2024.
