Your New Role
Reporting to the Head of Member Operations, the role of Principal, Member Group Delivery is to:
- Take primary accountability for ensuring the effective delivery of a portfolio Member Groop projects & change initiatives on behalf of the Head of Member Operations and the relevant Member Domain Business Sponsors. These will vary in size, complexity and number over time based on the priorities of the business.
- Work with the various program and project sponsors, delivery teams and key stakeholders employing the Enterprise delivery framework to support the Fund Strategy by supporting the case for the work (i.e. relevant funding submission) and then oversee the delivery of their portfolio and the realisation of agreed benefits as detailed in the approved funding submissions.
- The role is also required to ensure ongoing maintenance of the integrity and integration of each component of these initiatives, through oversight of progress and delivery; management of "in flight" and pipeline interdependencies; and ensuring that the benefits are delivered.
Key duties include but are not limited to:
- Oversee their Portfolio of Work to ensure the intended business outcomes and benefits are delivered ensuring that prioritisation of work includes a Fund-wide lens of Member First.
- Ensure that the delivery teams are appropriately resourced and set up to deliver business outcomes and realise benefits, and that the portfolio itself is positioned to deliver on Fund and Domain strategies.
- Portfolio development and establishment:
- Ensure the business teams are supported to develop the relevant funding submissions for their projects, including supporting them to prioritise the pipeline of work. This includes working with senior leaders to ensure the effective prioritisation, sequencing and management of projects and initiatives across the Member domain.
- Work with the relevant business teams to ensure that the portfolio of Member change is aligned, and that portfolio dependencies and conflicts are being effectively managed.
- Support your team to set up the relevant (right-sized) project governance structures as directed by the Project Governance Office (PGO)
- Establish the project & program teams to deliver the work including effectively managing the division of types of resources (i.e. Perm vs MTC vs Consultant) to maximise productivity.
- Support your team to deliver the Portfolio of work including:
- Ensuring the right capabilities and capacities are maintained in the project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Managing any risks, issues, and dependencies across your portfolio.
- Identifying any adverse impacts of the Portfolio on the Fund's Strategy &/or our Business Plan and escalating these to the Head of Member Operations
- Govern and manage portfolio risks to Enterprise standards.
- Ensure that your Head of Department and Domain Leadership teams are well informed of the benefits that your Portfolio is delivering to support their strategy.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior leadership and key stakeholders across the Member Domain to ensure your portfolio is aligned with their needs.
What You'll Need
- Clear Track record of delivering large/complex/strategic projects/programs of work.
- Strong Business Program Management Experience in planning and delivering.
- Strong Portfolio &/ or Technical Program Management Experience.
- Skilled in managing C-level executive relationships, governance and steering committees.
- Sound business case development and management / oversighting skills.
- Demonstrated experience in and understanding of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling portfolios.
- Inclusive, collaborative and engaging approach; including the ability to consult, facilitate, negotiate and influence with a broad range of people at all levels.
- Ability to structure and manage multi-disciplinary teams across multiple functions; creatively define the project pacing and obtain incremental benefits before the program is complete.
- Sound Domain knowledge in Administration Management/ Business Rules Management/ Insurance Operations Management/ Insurance Claims Management
- Sound understanding of / experience with the Superannuation Industry and the regulatory environment in which it operates.
- Ability to coordinate and liaise with a range of senior stakeholders and influence them to drive delivery outcomes.
