Principal Optometrist and Clinic Operations Manager
- Employment Type: Part-time (21 hour a week)
- Duration: Fixed Term contract until 30th June 2025
- Remuneration: $130K - $148K base prorated (+17% super and leave loading)
- Visa: Full working rights will be required for the duration of the contract
- Location: Based across both the UNSW, Kensington and Parramatta clinics
Centra for Eye Health
The Centre for Eye Health (CFEH) provides advanced diagnostic and disease management services at no cost to patients in New South Wales. The centres’ primary goal is to reduce preventable blindness in our community.
Why this role matters
This position will lead, participate in, and develop excellence in clinical diagnostic and management services at CFEH at both UNSW and Parramatta clinics. The position will report into the Head of Clinical Operations and has 2 direct reports including but not limited to CFEH Lead Clinicians.
Who you are:
- Registered with AHPRA as a therapeutically qualified optometrist in Australia.
- Minimum of 10 years demonstrated clinical and management experience.
- Significant experience in managing staff including all aspects of workforce development.
- Project management experience and delivery including working within time and budget allocation.
- Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills.
- Superior interpersonal communication skills including the ability to initiate and maintain effective staff and stakeholder relationships, whilst exercising discretion and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently.
- Relevant experience in ocular disease diagnosis and management.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in patient care.
- Demonstrated ability to critically appraise and interpret as well as contribute to published literature.
