With the support of the Perioperative NUM3, you will be leading a team of motivated novice and intermediate Perioperative nurses, Operations Assistants and CSSD technicians under the tutelage of experienced staff and a full time Clinical Nurse Educator. Nursing Clinical Leads are allocated to all specialties and provide a conduit between the NUM3, NUM1, anaesthetic team and surgeons.Communication with Surgical and Anaesthetic teams, Booking Office, Preadmission Clinic, the Patient Access Manager and wards is integral to optimal outcomes for patients with professional relationships and processes well established.About Taree:

- Clinical oversight of the Day Only Unit, 3 theatres, an endoscopy procedure room, a 9 bay PACU and a CSSD Department ensures a full schedule each day.
- With the majority of shifts allocated in a clinical capacity, a typical day incorporates any activity that creates safety and efficiency within the unit.
- Troubleshooting patient issues, staff alignment with ACORN standards, surgical access for high priority emergency cases, timeliness of session commencement and finishing times, as well as functioning equipment would all come under this banner.
The NUM1 requires a definite leadership mindset. Perioperative experience needs to be supported by communication, decision-making, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. Ongoing practice alongside education will encourage the knowledge needed to manage change, coach to enable high performing teams and generate innovation.Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA.
- Post-graduate qualifications in Perioperative nursing and/or Management.
- Four weeks annual leave (pro-rata for part-time employees)
- 6 weeks annual leave (for eligible full time nurses)
- Up to 12 allocated days off each year (for full-time employees)
- Superannuation contributions 11%
