Job description

Shellharbour City Council is looking for a Principal Planner to lead the Accelerated Assessment team. This a leadership position where you will use your extensive experience to process and coordinate development application determinations heading up a small team of planning professionals.
In particular, the position and team will be responsible for the less complex and less contentious development applications received that are able to be determined in a shorter turn-around time. The position will also be provided with career development opportunities to retain involvement in more complex and larger scale development, if desired.
The position reports directly to the Manager Planning and Urban Release. The position is supported by the Manager and other Principal Planners as well as Council’s Customer Service Applications Team which handles development enquiries and lodgement of applications prior to assessment.

  • Permanent full time, 35 hours per week with access to flexi-time
  • Commencing salary range from $103,229.36 - $113,973.60 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
  • 11% superannuation
  • Fully Maintained Leaseback Vehicle or Motor Vehicle Allowance
