The Opportunity
The Principal Planner – Transport Strategy will lead andmanage strategic transport planning activities, high-levelinvestigations and reform initiatives and provide advice to theManager Transport Strategy regarding the future development of themulti-modal transport system in South Australia.
 
Based in the Transport Strategy and Network Planning Directorate,this role will be key to supporting the development andimplementation of the South Australian Transport Strategy and arange of associated plans and initiatives, including PassengerTransport, Active Transport and Future Transport Technology.
About You
We are seeking a professional to provide strategic multi-modaltransport advice, aligned with government priorities and the SouthAustralian Transport Strategy. The role involves conductingstrategic transport studies and supporting the development andimplementation of state and national transport plans.Responsibilities include engaging extensively with community andstakeholders, managing external service providers, and ensuring thedelivery of timely and effective transport solutions. The idealcandidate will work collaboratively across multi-disciplinaryteams, resolve complex issues, and drive continuous improvementthrough leadership and business planning.
Requirements
Appointment to this role may be to the ASO7 or PO4 classificationlevel dependent on qualifications and experience. Candidatesseeking a role at either classification are encouraged toapply.
For appointment to the role at the PO4 classification level, aminimum degree level qualification in Engineering, Planning ordirectly relevant discipline is required.
Current Australian drivers’ licence.
Special Conditions
The successful candidate will be required to provide a NationalPolice Check (NPC) prior to employment with the Department forInfrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every threeyears.
Some out of hours and weekend work, along with someintra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may berequired.
Remuneration
ASO7 - $106,512 to $115,137 per annum
PO4 - $109,060 to $118,690 per annum
