- Salary: $106,512 to $115,137 – ASO7 – Full Time / Term Contract up to 12 Months
Overview:
The Principal Policy Advisor is responsible for the development of strategic mental health legislative and policy initiatives and proposals, including issues of state and national significance in the context of new or amended legislation and the mental health reform agenda. The incumbent will provide a strategic policy and legislation advisory service to the Department, Local Health Networks, other government agencies and members of the public.
The role will focus on reform of the Mental Health Act 2009 and will:
- Identify and deliver mental health legislation and policy initiatives in keeping with the mental health reform agenda.
- Provide a strategic legislation and Policy Advisory service to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute legislation and policy advice to Cabinet submissions, reports and briefing notes.
- Work effectively within a complex, sensitive and challenging organisation to achieve critical mental health outcomes across a health system.

Criminal History Screening Requirement

Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact)
