Reporting to the Process Engineering Lead you'll oversee design and construction delivery assurance of the process design of the Hydrogen generation plants, Hydrogen carriers’ plants, and Fluid transmission pipelines, ensuring the work undertaken by the contractor or vendor meets the project expectations on safety, quality and technical compliance.
Your duties will be:
- Provide advice and information to the Project teams on process issues that influence design, construction, and maintenance.
- Ensure effective application of Process Engineering meets the basis of design requirements of each project.
- Process design, simulation, heat & mass balance, process flow diagrams and any required process studies to be undertaken.
- Oversee, review, and approve the equipment sizing for process requirements, specifications and data sheets of the process plants.
- Provide process technology solutions, expert advice, and technical support on process design.
- Green Technology process and project technical simulations for detailed project evaluation.
- Communicate and interface effectively with other disciplines, project managers, and equipment and engineering specialist providers.
- Lead a process team to deliver the target scope, when required.
- Participate in specific detailed design reviews and evaluations, including technical safety reviews of design, HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, QRA, and risk analysis.
- Ensure technical assurance of internal and contractor design based on the Australian Standards, International Standards and Industry best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Process or equivalent study.
- 10+ years’ experience working in a multi-project setting, including high-level conceptual studies and feasibility studies, FEED through to FID and execution.
- Proven competency in process simulations, equipment, valve, safety valves sizing and specifications, developing PFDs and P&IDs
- Depth knowledge of Australian and international standards applicable to process design.
- Strong data management and manipulation skills, with excellent computer literacy skills.
- Experience in industrial chemical processing, oil and gas processing, Hydrogen, Ammonia, Methanol manufacturing, and projects involving renewable energy would be highly advantageous.
- Proven competency in Scoping Study, PFS, FEED, and detailed design. Exposure to process plant pre-commissioning, commissioning, and troubleshooting would be advantageous.
- Proficiency or exposure to HYSYS and other ASPEN plus simulation packages would be advantageous.
