Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Process Engineer to join our team in Melbourne on a 12 month contract.
Reporting into the Lead Process Engineer, this role will provide Process Engineering support as part of proficiently developing safe process plant designs and providing subject matter expertise for EPC projects.
The following list are typical Process Engineering deliverables required to be developed for EPC projects:
- Process Basis of Design
- Philosophy documentation
- Process Flow Diagrams
- Process Safety Diagrams
- Material Selection Diagrams
- P&IDs
- Heat and Material Balances
- Cause and Effects
- Alarm and Trip Schedules
- Line Lists
- Process Calculations - Line Sizing, PSV Sizing, Control Valves, Pumps, Drums, Heat Exchangers, Cooler/Condenser, Cooling Water System, Nitrogen blanket and Tank level settings
- Process Datasheets - Control Valves, Pumps, Drums, Heat Exchangers, compressors, driers, PSV Sizing
Typical attendance would be expected for the following workshops:
- Design Review (including Constructability Review)
- HAZOP
- HAZID
- LOPA / SIL review
- Plot Plan review
Accountabilities
- Supporting the Lead Process Engineer in the delivery of Process Engineering deliverables
- Excellent knowledge of safety regulations and applicable industry codes / standards
- Excellent standard of written and oral communication
- Highly proficient analytical and numerical skills
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Demonstrated experience in supporting and checking the work of junior engineers.
- A “solutions mindset” and able to manage varying tasks with often changing and competing priorities
- Suitably qualified with a Bachelor of Engineering degree from a recognised institution, ideally you will have relevant experience in safety engineering for petroleum production / processing facilities within Australia and preferably on brownfields projects
- At least 12 years’ experience in formal safety assessment studies, risk-based decision-making and the design/specification of safety critical equipment and systems
- Intellectually capable, can substantiate the ability to apply theory in a practical context
- Risk Facilitator skills for HAZOP or LOPA/SIL workshops highly desirable
- Professional demeanor, strong interpersonal skills
- Able to demonstrate team building skills and capable of influencing people at all levels of the organisation
- Enthusiastic, conscientious, and keen to learn
- Flexible with a can-do attitude
