This role will see you become a technical and people leader, thereby enhancing your capabilities and the reputation of WSP’s Mining Infrastructure and Project Delivery (MIPD) team. Principal Structural Engineer / Team Lead
Our Mining team helps clients optimise performance, boost profitability, and operate responsibly. We have a comprehensive understanding of the mining industry and current issues including decarbonisation and understand future ready strategies are critical to countering these issues, capitalising on opportunities, and adding value to businesses.
We work for the world largest mining companies including BHP, Glencore, Rio Tinto, Hancock, not only in Australia, but across the globe. We develop relationships with our clients that go beyond a single project or geography and see ourselves as partners in their mining business, not just consultants. Our partnership with these clients stretches over decades, across many continents and projects.
What you’ll do
Leading a team of Structural Engineers within a multi-disciplined engineering team to deliver a range of mine infrastructure related projects
Technical leadership of structural engineering design for mining clients
Leading scope and budget development in response to clients’ needs
Allocate resources and track budgets
Contribute to broader team effort of business development
Working with the wider resources team and other teams within the company nationally and internationally to deliver clients’ outcomes
About you
Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering) or Equivalent. Chartered status CPENG & RPEQ.
Proven experience in structural design and extensive experience working in consulting environment.
Strong experience in design of mining and industrial infrastructure, maintenance facilities and materials handling structures.
Experience in undertaking and leading structural Integrity audits
Experience in leading teams of structural engineers and coordinating multi-discipline engineering project teams
Resource management
Experience in all stages of projects from prefeasibility through to detail design
Effective leadership skills
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
