Our Opportunity

Work Location: Fortescue Centre, Perth.

Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.

Roster: Flexible, Part time or Full time, Monday - Friday

Fortescue is committed to taking a leadership position on sustainability with ambitious emissions reduction targets and stance on modern slavery.

This role will be responsible for the successful project management of timely and high-quality Sustainability reports and disclosures, in line with leading practices globally.

The role reports to the Manager Carbon and Climate Change manager but supports the broader sustainability team. The candidate will not be required to develop all content, the role presents opportunity for the candidate to further develop and expend their sustainability knowledge and skills through learning from internal subject matter experts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and Project-Manage the delivery of key Sustainability and Environment Social & Governance disclosures and reports by coordinating timely inputs and reviews from the relevant internal subject matter experts and accountable senior management roles. Reports include, but not limited to:

  • Sustainability sections of the Annual Report

  • Sustainability Report & Climate Change report

  • Modern Slavery statement

  • Climate Transition Plan

  • Annual questionnaire submission to CDP

  • Annual questionnaire submission to S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment

  • Internal deliverables included in Board and Committee papers

  • Identify and timely engage relevant strategic internal stakeholders for content development and review.

  • Clearly communicate deliverables and manage delivery to schedule and of high quality.

  • Maintain and manage the register of all sustainability commitments made by Fortescue.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in project management with extensive people interfacing.
  • Experience leading cross functional multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience with simple project management software
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications with a minimum of 10 years' experience
  • Experience in the resources, energy, manufacture or heavy industry or an ASX listed company
  • Advanced written, interpersonal and communications skills
  • Experience in relevant fields such as sustainability, climate change, carbon, human rights, would be beneficial
  • Experience compiling sustainability reports would be a plus
  • Experience in change management would be a plus.
