About the Role

BHP has established an internal Strategic Workforce Planning capability, underpinned by a standardised methodology, advanced data science and strong executive sponsorship. Our Purpose? Compel customers with powerful insights, enable the best workforce investments, build a better world.

We are seeking two experienced candidates to join us, in the role of Principal Workforce Strategy & Capability. This role will partner with Heads of HR to build strategic workforce plans for a diverse range of senior leadership teams by distilling data into compelling insights and executable workforce investments that ultimately secure the workforce capability, capacity and culture to win - now and into the future.

Working alongside a passionate and ambitious Workforce Strategy and analytics team, you will partner with the Manager Workforce Strategy to deliver on the long-term, global vision for strategic workforce planning. This role is pacey, challenging and high-impact, requiring innovative and strategic thinking, pragmatism, an improvement focus, and a customer mindset. You will be an agile and analytical problem solver, forging high-trust cross-functional partnerships to identify solutions, align stakeholders and deliver timely, quality outcomes.

Accountabilities
  • Strategic Workforce Planning
  • Drive our enterprise SWP process by partnering with senior HR and Asset/Function leaders to identify priority organisational challenges, diagnose root causes and recommend compelling workforce strategies/ initiatives.
  • Provide specialist technical expertise and advice in the areas of culture & Capability
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices in workforce planning and reflects on the enterprise SWP build processes to continuously optimise approaches.
  • Develop core deliverable documents and reports, used by our customers to make strategic decisions
  • Workforce Analytics
  • Partner with the Workforce Analytics team to conduct core SWP analysis (supply/demand, business scenario planning, forecasting), and support workforce analytics projects, including predictive analytics, dashboards/ data visualisation, and identifying trends and recommendations.
  • Facilitate the analysis and translation of organisational data into meaningful insights and stories for our people.
  • Support the technology roadmap for SWP in partnership with Workforce Analytics
  • Organisational Development
  • Provide expertise on future of work and workforce design to senior leadership and HR.
  • Maintain and develop the BHP Career & Capability Framework and other Job-related data to ensure that BHP's future workforce is defined and data can be used across the people value chain for a range of use cases.
About You
  • Experience in large, global organisations, in Workforce Strategy, Consulting, senior HR roles, or related disciplines.
  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Strategy, Organisational Psychology or a related field.
  • Strong skills across the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience in Mining or related industry preferred.

Knows our customer and takes personal accountability for their actions and performance, persisting and working hard to deliver against the plan and stretch targets.
  • Business Acumen: Applies an understanding of the business context, BHP operating model and ways of working to enhance decision making, productivity and value chain performance.
  • Presentation/ Facilitation: Conducts presentations and facilitates workshops using storytelling to connect, influence and create buy-in from large/ complex stakeholder groups (e.g. senior Asset/Function leadership teams).
  • Stakeholder Management: Works collaboratively across the organization to understand and anticipate the needs of different stakeholders groups and sources of influence. Prioritises engagement in these areas and works towards shared goals/outcomes.
