The role
Reporting to the State Director of Health Information Management, Healthcare Purchasing and Funding Branch, you will spearhead efforts to grow, enhance, and stabilise the Health Information Management and Clinical Coding professions within Queensland Health. Your role involves meticulous project planning, applying effective project management techniques, methodologies, and tools to ensure well-documented approaches for benefits realisation, risk management, and high-quality project outcomes. Investigating opportunities for workforce training to enhance capabilities.
You will work closely with industry partners, such as the tertiary sector, ITOs, and Professional Associations, to advance the workforce and define a pipeline of job-ready workers. Your strategic engagement and maintenance of strong professional partnerships with internal and external stakeholders will be instrumental in driving positive outcomes in workforce initiatives. Representing the Branch at senior levels and fostering mutually productive partnerships with vendors and stakeholders at local and state-wide levels, you will actively manage a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices, including employment equity, anti-discrimination, and ethical behaviour.
The successful person
Success in this position requires a proven record of accomplishment of subject matter expertise in Health Information Management and/or Clinical Coding functions, along with an understanding of the skilled workforce supporting these disciplines. Your background should highlight successful management and delivery of complex projects and business change activities.
Additionally, you should possess expertise in applying established project management methodologies, providing guidance on suitable techniques and tools, and demonstrate strong leadership and team management skills. Your experience should reflect the ability to build and sustain high-profile, multi-disciplinary project teams, ultimately achieving high-quality project outcomes.
