Graphic Packaging International Australia Converting Ltd is a leader in innovative design and manufacture of printed packaging supplying cartons and flexible packaging to a variety of industries including pharmaceutical, consumer and beverage packaging.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Printing Assistant at our Malaga site in WA, 11 kilometres north of the CBD.  You will assist across all aspects of our print area and your organisational abilities and eye for detail will be key to assisting our Printing Machinists gain maximum efficiency.

To be considered for this role you must be able to:

• work shift work;
• establish and organise the jobs the Printing Machinist is to print on your shift or the next shift;
• check and compare quantity of stock to job specifications;
• co-ordinate, maintain and supervise the smooth running of the feeder of our KBA Rapida 106 printing press;
• undertake Housekeeping- continually ensure a safe and organised environment. 

This includes cleaning around the Printing Machine and pallets are stacked in a safe manner;

• top up solvents and coating buckets;
• clean printing plates thoroughly;
• empty and clean up trays;
• check coating and alcohol levels and fill up on an as needs basis;
• prepare pallets ready for the machine using a pallet turner;
• issue raw material stock via hand held bar code reader.

Education Requirements and Desired Qualifications:

• Machine Operating Experience
• Knowledge of Printing Industry
• School Certificate
• Ideally, candidates will possess a current forklift licence
