Privacy Analyst

About the role

We are looking for a data privacy enthusiast who wants to join this growing field. While you do not need to have direct experience in privacy, you should have 2-4 years of experience in a large organisation setting up and running new processes and systems. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is excited and passionate about data privacy and making a difference to our organisation and our customers.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintain data mapping, records of processing and currency of privacy and cookie notices across the group
  • Manage and respond to data subject requests process and privacy enquiries
  • Work with stakeholders to identify and advise on privacy risks, issues and incidents and recommend actions or approaches to reduce or control these risks
  • Support the ongoing development of the Privacy Platform and associated supporting systems and processes
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams within Breville to embed Privacy by Design and Responsible Use of Data
  • Collaborate with business and technical users at all stages of a use case to create and implement privacy enhancing and data related features
  • Adopt and implement privacy and security best practices
  • Contribute to the uplift and maturation of Breville's privacy framework and privacy culture
  • Contribute to process improvements and best practices in privacy and data protection
  • Work closely with the in-house legal team to support privacy compliance activities
  • Support vendor on-boarding activities by conducting third-party risk assessments

We're Interested in Hearing from People Who Have:

  • Qualifications

Essential:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Business, Compliance, Risk Management or related disciplines or equivalent relevant experience

Desirable:
Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM); Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT); Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineering (CDPSE)

  • Professional Experience

    Essential:
    - 2-4 years of professional working experience utilising business analysis, data analysis, process improvement and/or project management skills
    - Experience working in, or with technology, analytics or digital teams
    - Experience in interpreting and applying policies and/or regulations
    - Experience in stakeholder engagement (IT & Non-IT) and relationship management

    Desirable:
    - Knowledge of global privacy and regulatory frameworks including Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), GDPR, CCPA
    - Hands-on experience in managing privacy operations, artefacts or records such as data subject requests, data mapping, records of processing and changes to privacy and cookie notices
    - Experience in working with external vendors
    - Experience in cross-functional work and liaising with distributed teams across multiple time-zones
    - Experience in managing projects or working as part of a project team in an analytic capacity
    - Experience in analyzing and implementing measures as a result of changes in policy and regulation
