We are currently recruiting for a Process Engineer for our client, a major oil and gas operator. Ideally, we are looking for someone who is in the early years of their career with a comprehensive understanding of the Oil and Gas industry.
The primary objective of the role is to provide process expertise to ensure safe operation, with the successful candidate having the ability to identify debottlenecking and optimization opportunities.
To ensure achieving this objective, the candidate should
- Understand comprehensively the oil & gas processes and the interaction between various process systems, and between process and utility systems.
- Understand in depth of the oil & gas operation and have working experience of a number of different functional area of the LNG and/or offshore processes.
Understand the current operation issues and have experience of how to deal with the similar issues from past site working experience
In addition, other responsibilities include:
- Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures. At all times, ensure the welfare of personnel and the protection of our assets and the environment.
- Ensure deviations from Performance Standards and the facility operating envelope are captured and managed within the MoC System.
- Ensuring that the plant technical integrity is protected by managing process in line with the commitments made as part of the safety case performance standards and design assumptions.
- Provide Process support for emergent facility issues
- Conduct Process and Integrity surveillance to capture any emergent threats to Production / Reliability and facility integrity.
- Work with Maintenance / Implementation to ensure high priority work is accurately captured and prioritised.
- Identify and pursue optimisation or improvement opportunities.
- Assist with review of facility operating procedures.
- Participate in Risk Assessments / HAZOPs / LOPAs as required.
- Provide support to other stakeholders within the business as required
- Demonstrated experience in process design and/or operations support for oil & gas/refinery/petrochemical industry
- Engineering degree in chemical engineering or Process Engineering
- Able to organise and/or carry out hands on technical evaluations in own sphere.
- Able to co-ordinate projects and activities in own sphere.
- Able to communicate with internal bodies on technical issues
- Strong planning, organisation and time management skills
- Highly motivated
- Strong user of Aspen Hysys, (Steady State & Dynamics) as well as Osi Pi
- Knowledge of SCE’s, performance standards and Safety Case
