Salary: $93,592 - $113,228 p.a. plus 11% Super Permanent/Full-Time Leaseback Vehicle Available About the roleThis is a permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm position working 35 hours per week. This position is located at the Shoalhaven Water Operations Depot, South Nowra.
The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position. Duties Reporting directly to the Unit Manager – Digital Control Systems, the focus of this position is to: Supports the Operations Section within Council to enable Council to function at an optimal level.

Reports to the Unit Manager on areas of functional responsibility making professional recommendations for the Unit Manager’s consideration. Optimisation of all Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants, to ensure a consistent, efficient and high-quality treated water is provided to all Shoalhaven Water customers. Ensuring that the Water/Wastewater Treatment plants are operated, maintained and upgraded as per statutory requirements, approved plans, policies and procedures. Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will be/ possess: Grade 11 (B3/L2) Grade 12 (B3/L2) Completion of a Bachelor of Engineering (Process or Environmental) Eligibility of Graduate Membership to the Institute of Engineers, Australia. Graduate Bachelor of Engineering (Process or Environmental) Eligibility for Membership of the Institute of Engineers, Australia. Minimum of 2 years full-time experience working in relevant field.
Demonstrated experience in the supervision and management of employees and contractors. Class C Driver’s Licence. A demonstrated understanding of engineering and management concepts relating to Water and Wastewater infrastructure.
A good understanding of asset management concepts and systems. Ability to demonstrate application of the Work Health & Safety (WHS) Act within an operations and maintenance environment.
The ability to acquire a comprehensive knowledge of Council policies, local laws, quality assurance procedures, standards, work procedures and risk management. The ability to coach and motivate employees and proactively take action to manage performance issues. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate and consult with a range of stakeholders, including those over which the incumbent has no authority and be able to work effectively with other employees, alliances and program areas to accomplish shared tasks or projects.
