Process Engineer, Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Part-time 3-month contract (3 days a week)

Join this global market leader in chemicals & ingredients distribution in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne as a Process Engineer. This is a part-time role working 3 days a week, starting as a 3-month contract with a possibility of a permanent position thereafter.
Your new role
In your new role as a Process Engineer, you will report to the SHE Manager and will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customers, improving and developing existing customer relationships as well as identifying and actively seeking new product & sales growth opportunities.
- Lead the local team in establishing an on-site process safety management system, standards, procedures and practices.
- Provide on-site guidance and steers in new projects with good safety engineering and chemical knowledge, experience and skill sets.
- Collaborate with local Operations/Logistics/QSHE Teams by providing process safety guidance on acquisitions, projects, modification and vendor/service provider/3PL/ contractor sourcing.
- Set up and perform internal site process safety assurance program.
- Verify engineering and technical documents for safety assurance.
- Facilitate or organise process hazard analysis sessions.
- Provide guidelines on controls and safety requirements for HAC/ATEX zoning areas.
- Work closely with Operations / Logistics departments to ensure all technical and engineering drawings are standardised and according to sound engineering practices and protocols.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you will need a minimum of a Bachelors degree in Chemical/Process/Mechanical engineering.
You will also have -
- 2+ years experience working in food manufacturing or similar
- Track record of engineering design, process controls and project management experience
- Experience in process safety management, human factors, design safety
- Understanding batch processes is a plus.
What you'll get in return
In return for your hard work, you will be paid $60 + per hour and will work 3 days a week.
(7am - 3pm, you can choose the days!)
