About the role
Moondarra Cheese is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager, the successful applicant must be a qualified Engineer and have experience in the food manufacturing or similar industry
You will be responsible for:
- Identifying, implementing and delivering continuous improvement, cost optimisation and process efficiency activities across the site.
- Managing short and long term engineering strategies and budgets.
- Working with the Engineering & Maintenance Manager to lead new machinery purchases and installation.
- Providing reports, analyses and advice to contribute to decision making and directions in production.
- Work with the maintenance and production managers to improve production throughput.
- Manage the engineering side of new product development projects.
- Identifying and implementing automation opportunities throughout the site.
- Writing of SOP’s and facilitating training of the operation team on new commissions.
The necessary skills and requirements:
- Engineering degree and a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the dairy industry and/or food manufacturing.
- Initiative, high energy, drive and eagerness to learn.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with high levels of attention to detail.
- Good planning and organisational skills.
- Proven track record of success in dealing with suppliers and contractors.
- A self-motivated attitude with the ability to work independently.
- Strong financial analysis, project management and negotiation skills.
