What you'll do:
This role is responsible for primary processing outcomes and supporting the quality team to manage Woolworths product and primals through the life cycle of both the primary (abattoir) and secondary (HFA or other) processing plants to achieve customer demand. You will engage with primary processing site teams to optimise site performance with regards to achievement of specifications, yield expectations and processing metrics as developed.
Working with the primary processing sites to optimise performance with regards to achievement of quality specifications and red meat yield requirements
Proactively support Processing Manager to identify and implement initiatives within the primary processing sites responsible.
Work with third party suppliers to optimise site performance and achieve processing metrics.
Work with a range of stakeholders internally and externally across our multi-channels including lamb, pork and beef processing partners throughout Australia, foodservices, retail, international and wholesale customers and secondary manufacturing.
Proactively engage and support Quality and Processing team members and cross functional teams.
Review make sheet/compliance, yield, product reconciliation, service level, processing charges and quality compliance. Support the primary processing site team/s with information and focus areas ensuring quality and processing requirements, metrics and standards are met as per Woolworths expectations.
What you'll bring:
You have a deep technical understanding of the meat industry gained through experience in production or manufacturing, having had success in building and fostering strong relationships with a broad range of stakeholders across multiple channels. You bring a proactive and innovative lens to problem solving, looking at things from a different perspective to provide considered recommendations through thought leadership.
Have strong operational leadership and strategic experience gained from a similar environment
Demonstrate primary processing operations experience, with a track record driving efficiency with best practice and results across multi-plant operations
Experience within a food manufacturing/meat processing environment
Strong working knowledge and understanding of FSQA
Experience managing complex SKUs
Be commercially astute, with a strong awareness of the opportunities and challenges of running a primary processing business.
