The Opportunity
As the Processing Technician you are responsible for ensuring that the mixing plant and UHT processing equipment achieved planned volumes.
Pre-weigh ingredients as required.
Set up, operate, adjust, troubleshoot, changeover and shut down Mixing Plants and UHT Processing equipment.
Ensure that all equipment within area of responsibility is running at the required performance rates to ensure that daily production targets are met.
Ensure products and batch changes are correctly managed and authorised.
Assist the Process Technicians with the operation of UHT.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (i.e. OEE, waste, downtime etc.) throughout the shift to Senior Technicians.
Perform routine in-process checks during production, i.e. weight control, dye check, salt checks, density testing etc.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and when Senior Technicians or Engineering is required for assistance, ensure you understand what the issue was and what had to be done to fix the issue.
Participate and support Senior Process Technicians, the Engineering team and the plant preventative maintenance process.
Participate in the implementation of agreed process improvement initiatives in the Plant.
What you'll bring
Experience working within a similar position within the Food/Beverage manufacturing industry;
Previous experience in operating mixing equipment;
Demonstrated understanding of long-life filling technology and sterile filling operation concepts;
High School Certificate, Trade Certificate or equivalent;
A relevant technical, dairy or science tertiary qualification is desirable but not essential;
Sound understanding of quality and workplace health and safety standards, legislation and regulations;
Demonstrated experience working with Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement principals;
Exceptional communication (written and verbal) with the ability to build rapport and credibility quickly across a various stakeholder groups;
Ability to adopt a highly agile approach to their work practice;
Excellent time management skills and an ability to prioritise;
High level of stakeholder engagement and appropriate communication management;
Ability to multi-task with competing priorities; and
Independent and autonomous self-starter.
