We are seeking a forward thinking and intuitive Procurement Lead with previous experience based in Melbourne, Australia. Reporting into the Procurement Cluster Manager based in Hong Kong, this role is responsible for optimising local procurement of products and services by liaising with the local management team to understand their current and anticipated demand or needs, deploying local sourcing strategies, optimising the local supplier base and managing local and cluster suppliers.
A day in the life of Procurement Lead, as the Procurement Lead, you will:
- Manage all categories including but not limited to the following categories Logistics, Digital & Information Services (IS), Professional Services, Facilities Services (FSS), Marketing in a project based organisation setup.
- Partner with key internal stakeholders, winning trust and influencing engagement with procurement to deliver more efficient business outcomes;
- Translate business requirements into actionable plans to capture potential long term opportunities
- Perform regular benchmarks to anticipate business needs and translate them into sourcing strategies with solid industry and category knowledge
- Master negotiation tools and styles to drive business needs and proactively build levers to steer critical negotiations and lead complex ones. Anticipating results and aligning with stakeholders on possible negotiation outcomes.
- Segment the supply base and establish different types of supplier relationships management on defined criteria. Defining governance and escalation models to manage those relationships.
- Maintain effective & efficient integration and engagement with remote teams or colleagues from procurement operation centre.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders on implementing sustainability initiatives in the sourcing process in align with company goals.
We're looking for someone who has:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in procurement at local/regional category level with specialisation in one or more categories
- A high level of business acumen, demonstrating credibility when engaging senior stakeholders
- Proactive customer service management
- A solid knowledge of the Sourcing and Procure to Pay mindset
- Demonstrated capability in network building and working across multiple time zones with international teams
- Evidence of further education through either nationally accredited Supply Chain training/Procurement (CIPS) or relevant tertiary qualifications is desirable
