The Opportunity
One of our strong clients are currently seeking the skillset and expertise of a Procurement and Contract Officer for an initial 12 month period (1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025) with a potential for two x 12 months extension options at the absolute discretion of the Entity.
The Procurement and Contract Officer will work under general direction to support the Director and other line managers within the Learning Business Operations Section.
All candidates applying for this position must be an Australian Citizen and have a current Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsibility for managing a range of contracts, maintaining relationships with suppliers and customers
- Monitoring contracts and managing extension or renewal of contracts and contract close-out
- Undertaking the preparation of approval documentation including Approval to Approach the Market, Evaluation Outcomes, Approval to Commit Funds and Enter into Arrangements; Contracts and Work Orders
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Demonstrated experience in provisions of high-level advice, support and review in relation to Procurement and contract management activities ranging from simple to complex contracts
- Knowledge of the relevant Australian Government legislation, rules and policies relating to contract management and procurement activities
- Must be an independent, well-organised, self-motivated person with attention to detail and ability to work within a team, respecting deadlines, ability to deal with stressful situation
