In this regard, Incat is currently constructing the world’s largest battery electric ship at our Hobart shipyard.
Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced and commercially focused Procurement and Supply Chain Manager to join our team. Reporting to the CFO, this role will be responsible for developing and executing Procurement and Supply Chain strategies and operations for vessel construction projects and whole of business.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement competitive sourcing strategies.
- Lead supplier negotiations and contract management of all Procurement and Supply Chain activity.
- Monitor and control supplier performance, in particular to meet vessel project specific requirements and timelines.
- Develop and manage a cohesive and effective team that works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders across the Procurement and Supply Chain process.
- Implement best practice Procurement and Supply Chain disciplines, principles and behaviours.
- Monitor and report on the outcomes of Procurement and Supply Chain activities against budget, including vessel project deliverables.
- Drive improvements in Supply Chain efficiency, with a focus on margin improvement.
- Manage and control inventory and warehousing in the shipyard.
This is a permanent full-time appointment with a competitive remuneration package to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven leadership experience in Procurement and Supply Chain role. Experience in marine, manufacturing or construction environments considered favourably.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Exceptional negotiation experience.
- Strong commercial acumen and global Supply Chain experience.
- Solid analytical mindset, rational decision maker and a strategic thinker with a long-term view.
- Demonstrated experience in contract and supplier engagement and management.
- Proven ability to implement and deliver on strategies, systems and processes.
