The Opportunity:
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced and pragmatic procurement professional to play a crucial role in delivering Martin Brower’s procurement strategy for Indirects across ANZ, and be actively involved in optimising procurement activities and outcomes across the region.
The Procurement Category Manager- Indirects is a critical role for the ANZ business, requiring you to implement, procurement and supplier management strategies, policies and practices for Indirect spend.
The role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of end-to-end procurement for the Indirect spend category (including spend by HR, Finance, IT, Quality, Safety, Sustainability and on equipment, energy and fuel, fleet and repairs). You will provide category insights, data analysis, market and industry knowledge and advice to support business strategies and guide procurement activities across the region. This is a critical strategic role, but you will also need to be prepared to ‘roll your sleeves up’.
Day to day you will:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned to organisational objectives to achieve target outcomes.
- Collaborate with the leadership team and internal stakeholders to understand their requirements, identify and prioritise opportunities and manage potential risks.
- Conduct RFT’s, identifying, evaluating and assessing potential suppliers and solutions against agreed requirements.
- Lead negotiations and strategic sourcing of goods and services, delivering benefits, and ensuring fit-for-purpose, quality and other standards/outcomes are met, while maintaining effective governance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders (local and global), ensuring alignment on procurement approach, goals, performance, quality, compliance and reliability.
- Understand and manage the interdependencies and nuances between different sites and functions and leverage global arrangements where appropriate.
- Promote sustainable and ethical sourcing, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, laws, regulations and ethical standards.
- Advise internal stakeholders on procurement practices for their sourcing of direct goods and services.
About You:
- 5+ years post graduate experience in finance, procurement, strategic sourcing or supply chain management, which includes a focus on indirect spend.
- Understanding of sustainable procurement practices and ethical standards.
- Proven strong negotiation and contract management skills for large scale, complex contracts and the ability to secure favourable terms, build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Proven experience of aligning cross functional stakeholders (at all levels) towards common goals and targets.
