This opportunity
The role will provide expert advice to the Procurement team, business stakeholders and other support functions on all aspects of procurement including Procurement Governance (including framework, policies and standards), Responsible Sourcing and Supplier Diversity, Sustainability & Modern Slavery.
Reporting to the Head of Procurement Excellence, the successful candidate will be responsible to develop Procurements processes and framework and to facilitate delivery of key sustainability initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop the procurement policy and standards to monitor compliance, manage risk and improve procurement activity and performance.
- Work collaboratively with category managers, business stakeholders and suppliers to design and deliver Procurements sustainability priorities.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of integrated end-to-end tools, templates and processes that support the procurement lifecycle.
- Promote and support a culture of compliance, risk avoidance/mitigation and corporate accountability at various levels of the non-trade procurement landscape.
- Develop, measure and deliver against procurement's goals, quality measures and other better practice metrics including Procurement Governance, Risk, Supplier Management and Supplier Diversity.
- Develop the Vendor Governance Framework in collaboration with Category Managers and monitor compliance.
- Represent the Procurement team on the Human rights working group to identify, implement and embed due diligence activities to address and minimise Modern slavery risks in our non-trade supply chains.
- Development and socialisation of a comprehensive communications plan ensuring the right influencers are engaged through the business on a regular basis.
- Work with auditors and technical subject matter experts to satisfy internal and external audit requirements.
- Connect with external networks to identify industry best practices in procurement function relating to Supplier Management, Supplier Risk, Sustainability and Modern Slavery.
- Ability to navigate within a matrix-style environment whilst prioritising competing deadlines and stakeholders.
- Have developed agile, pragmatic Procurement policies, processes and frameworks.
- Able to articulate and demonstrate value Procurement can create.
- Extensive understanding of end-to-end supplier lifecycle processes including supplier risk assessment and onboarding, ongoing due diligence and supplier offboarding.
- Experience collaborating in diverse project teams.
- Working knowledge of Coupa, Ariba or other procurement systems is highly desirable
- Technical/business writing skills and commitment to process improvement.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant commercial discipline with professional procurement qualification or a membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply - MCIPS (desirable).
- Highly effective written communication skills with demonstrated experience in preparing reports and presentations.
- Telco experience preferred but not essential.
