ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. About the Opportunity

The role is responsible for supporting the wider Supply Chain team in the Collins Class submarine sustainment program by managing strategic IT implementation systems procurement sourcing and complex contract management activities within your designated portfolio. This position will develop, deliver and support business critical strategies and related sourcing activities through proactive engagement with key business stakeholders and the external market to ensure value for money outcomes.

This role is a full time Permanent opportunity based in Osbourne SA.

Responsibilities

  • Develop procurement strategies and sourcing plans that provide value for money, support on time delivery and manage ASCs risk
  • Implement and manage strategic sourcing activities
  • Engage and negotiate with the external market in accordance with the strategic sourcing plans
  • Management of subcontracts to ensure contract compliance, performance and risk mitigation
  • Knowledge sharing and coaching of team members

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in commerce, law, supply chain or a related field
  • Enthusiastic, Proactive and Autonomous in nature.
  • In-depth knowledge of category management, strategic sourcing and contracting principles and best practices
  • Strong negotiation skills for use in High value highly complex contract arrangements
  • Knowledge of minor or capital works
  • Significant knowledge of contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk
  • Knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting and business case development

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
