We are looking for a Procurement Manager to lead and deliver high quality procurement advisory services for an established Government dept.
- 6 months contract role with possible extension.
- Hourly pay rate up to $84.72/hour + Super.
- Work location: Canberra office.
- Immediate start.
The role suits a person with comprehensive procurement experience across the lifecycle of government procurement, who is looking to build on their leadership experience and progress their career.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Supervise staff members to provide the enabled services tier to the ACT Public Service and the public, as appropriate.
- Provide leadership to uplift capability so the team can provide expert guidance on procurement processes.
- You will assist stakeholders in navigating procurement decisions, ensuring compliance with legislation and the pursuit of value for money.
- Provide timely and accurate responses to queries, proactive problem-solving, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders are crucial aspects of this role.
- Act as an expert to provide advice for more complex procurement matters.
- Provide quality assurance on the work outputs.
- Design, develop and implement business processes and procedures to ensure the effective and efficient functioning, including maintaining system security and alignment with the procurement framework.
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as relevant Territory agencies, industry bodies and other government jurisdictions and represent in formal and informal internal or external forums, as required.
ESSENTIAL REQUIRMENTS:
- 3+ years of experience in a government procurement or related field, preferably across the lifecycle of a procurement.
- Knowledge of the ACT Government procurement framework.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications would be highly desired, for example, Certificate IV in Government (Procurement & Contracting) or an Advanced Diploma of Government (Procurement & Contracting).
- Proven ability to provide high quality customer service, including continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to lead a team to ensure that its priorities and direction align with better practice procurement.
- High level oral and written communication skills, including when providing written advice.
- Proven ability to develop shared knowledge and understanding (including through a Frequently asked question and advice precedents database) to contribute to effective coordination, improved team performance and enhanced service outcomes.
- Proven ability to design and implement improvements to business processes.
