AddressIn this position, you will be assisting the team to achieve the department goals of providing purchasing solutions expertise using Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development and Management to deliver maximum value. You will be Reporting to the purchasing manager, the Procurement Officer is responsible for purchasing of goods for aftermarket parts both locally and offshore, in conjunction with a team of buyers.
In this role your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Spend management - Driving cost savings with new and existing suppliers to meet individual and team objectives;
- Team Development - Working with the manager to learn from other team members, and when ready, to develop and mentor other team members.
- Procurement Reporting - managing compliance reporting as per policies and procedures;
- Procurement Methods - Ensure procurement methods are effective in obtaining goods when and where needed; and
- Liaising - Working closely with overseas team members and internal customers to achieve goals to a high standard.
- Collaboration - Working with engineering and vendors to help develop new or upgrade parts to insure compliance to required standards.
- Transaction management - Learning the MRP systems and onboard suppliers as required, confirming to the system guidelines and requirements.
- Grief management - Collaboration with offshore team and managing the supplier relationships to ensure the smooth functioning of the supply chain.
- Assisting with invoice discrepancies and vendor data maintenance
- Assist with ETO Direct Shipments from Vendor to Customer and in training/educating and supporting suppliers.
Desired Qualification:
- Strong purchasing experience, ideally within a manufacturing or similar industry.
- Advanced negotiating and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with global colleagues.
- Functional and working knowledge with MRP system and SAP procurement module
