This role will be based onsite in Beechworth, Victoria. Position Objective The Procurement Specialist responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers and the Billson Team, coordinating internal and external supply needs and supporting and optimising purchasing activities and processes.
The Procurement Specialist will work closely within the Commercial team and will support the efficient and timely purchasing requirements of Billson’s and ensure that our manufacturing processes can run without disruption. The Procurement Specialist will have active ownership in the procurement activities related to Billson’s co manufacturing strategy. ResponsibilitiesYou will report directly to the Business Planning Manager and be accountable for the following key responsibilities within the Billson’s network:
- Development and implementation of purchasing strategies and actively work to streamline all processes.
- Ownership of the ordering process and procurement of packaging and raw materials to meet the production requirements of the businesses, with a focus on procuring in line with our co-packing strategy.
- Ownership of the assembly of finished products produced by the co-packer into Billson’s operating systems.
- Assist with the daily purchasing activities & tasks.
- Support of internal relationships to ensure a high level of collaboration.
- Support supplier relationships.
- Maintain the supplier database, purchase records and related documentation.
- Actively participate in the Billson’s
New Product Development process.
- Assist with ordering packaging and raw materials to meet the NPD launch schedule.
- Assist with the implementation, monitoring and data collection from our suppliers in line with Billson’s HACCP (Food Safety) program.
- Work to improve purchasing systems and processes with the Commercial team.
- Identify then drive cost and process efficiencies.
- Arrange freight when required.
- Participate with our ERP implementation.
- Some travel will be required to develop and maintain Billson’s relationships with our co-manufacturing partners.
- Participate in the QA process when required.
- Actively participate in the NPD process.
- Participate in the planning and execution of our forecast model.
