About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Specialist will support ASC’s propulsion and major equipment portfolio and be responsible for the engagement of key suppliers.
The role is responsible for leading engagement with key suppliers and undertaking contracting and procurement activity at all levels including assisting with sourcing strategies and schedule planning, coordination of contracting and procurement activities ensuring value for money and delivery on time while managing subcontractor risk.
Responsibilities
- Supplier Management: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of goods and services.
- Procurement Planning: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and develop strategic procurement plans.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing while mitigating risks.
- Contract Management: Management of commercial agreements to ensure contract compliance and performance through contract review meetings, key performance indicators, various contractual deliverables. Coordinate the procurement process from purchase requisition to order placement, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures. Monitor and track delivery schedules to ensure timely receipt of goods and services, resolving any issues or delays as needed.

About you
- Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in a relevant Supply Chain role in a defence, manufacturing, or resource environment
- Proven track record of delivering cost savings and other business value
- Possesses project management skills to manage Procurement projects to agreed timelines and budget restraints
- Knowledge of strategic sourcing and contracting principles and best practices.
- Negotiation skills for use contract development and management.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
