Liquip Victoria, a rapidly growing business providing solutions for the Petroleum, Aviation, Chemical and bulk liquid storage industry is seeking to appoint an energetic inventory and purchasing professional to join our procurement team and make a positive change within our business.
This role will appeal to individuals who like to implement process and improvement. Reporting to the General Manager, this role will appeal to those who thrive on managing multiple tasks and like diversity in their day to day tasks.
Responsibility includes working with suppliers to establish value add propositions, negotiating improved pricing and establishing metrics to measure the procurement and inventory activities of the business. The role is involved in the procurement and inventory activities of the business.
Roles and responsibilities will include:
- Purchasing – for jobs and customer orders implementing robust confirmation process, managing overseas suppliers and freight arrangements
- Maintaining integrity of master and organisational data, including item cost
- Inventory accuracy and driving process improvement and stock turns initiatives of warehouse and consignment inventory
- Supplier negotiations, agreements and value add propositions
- Establishing metrics for inventory and purchasing
Skills and Experience:
- Strong negotiation skills with suppliers and experience in procurement
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Attention to detail and deadlines
- Proactive decision maker
- Sound background in inventory control and analysis
- Previous experience with implementing process improvement and working with lean tools such as Kanban, process mapping, A3's and standardised work
