The successful person will become a member of a hardworking and committed team who are responsible for all aspects of procurement of inventory including tendering, analysis, negotiation, award, and contract management within our Supply & Logistics team.You will be responsible for:
- Ensure compliance with company procurement guidelines
- Identification, onboarding and maintenance of suppliers that meet the Compliance requirements, to support the business
- Negotiate terms with suppliers such as price, quality of goods, specifications, lead times and transport
- Creation & issuing of commercially acceptable Purchase Orders, based on compliant supplier quotes
- Expediting of Purchase Orders to meet operational requirements
- Monitor and manage supplier performance including logistics providers
- Liaise with the Specialist – Inventory & Cataloguer to ensure that any item updates are communicated effectively with supporting information
- Resolution of invoicing mismatches, disputes and claims
- Additional ad hoc activities as required to support the Procurement & Inventory team
This role would suit a motivated Procurement Specialist who is results driven and customer service focused.You will also have:
- Extensive experience in a similar role, preferably in the Mining & Resources industry
- Background in Goods Procurement within a related field
- Proficient in preparing Purchase Order documentation and ongoing administration
- Strong data manipulation and analytical abilities
- Skilled in using integrated management systems, MS Excel, and MS Word
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated strong negotiation skills
- Ability to contribute meaningfully in group discussions and communicate effectively across all levels
