Job DescriptionYour New Role:

As a Procurement Support Officer, you will play a vital role in our procurement team, supporting project and operations groups in meeting their procurement reporting and compliance obligations. Reporting directly to the Director of Procurement Strategy & Compliance, you will collaborate closely with project teams to ensure seamless administrative support throughout the procurement lifecycle.
This this is not your run-of-the-mill purchasing role. Our Procurement team craft strategic solutions, shape policies, and drive progress with every decision. At Development Victoria, we value collaboration and we encourage a dynamic environment where project delivery teams orchestrate procurements with the support and expertise of our Procurement Team.
Core Accountabilities:
- Communicate procurement knowledge to delivery teams through individual and group training on procurement systems like Buying for Victoria Supplier Portal, VendorPanel, etc.
- Act as the first point of contact for procurement queries and assist in raising procurement-related issues.
- Support delivery and operations teams in understanding government and DV policy requirements and registering procurements with external government systems.
- Run reports on internal procurement systems to extract data and identify improvement opportunities.
- Monitor supplier reporting systems (such as the ICN VMC) to assist contract managers in extracting meaningful supplier reports and meeting reporting deadlines.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems by identifying anomalies and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Assist project teams in preparing and reviewing external reports on compliance with policies such as Social Procurement and Local Jobs First, and Modern Slavery obligations.
- Build strong relationships with delivery teams to become a trusted partner and support point for procurement-related queries.
About You:
We're looking for a commercially savvy candidate who excels in collaborative environments and is adept at fostering relationships and supporting dynamic teams. The ideal candidate will have to ability to effectively balance diverse group priorities all while demonstrating adaptability and openness to new ideas.
- Tertiary qualification in a related field (desirable)
- Experience in reporting and/or data analytics
- Familiarity with government processes, policy implementation, and organisational documentation, particularly in procurement
- Business intelligence experience considered favourably
- Proficient in Excel, including macros and data analytics functions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
