UGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink's delivery of CopperString 2032. This $5 billion iconic project will initially involve 840 kilometres of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland's North West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid. The project scope includes:
- 500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden
- 330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry
- 220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount Isa
- Up to six new substation sites.
- Assist the procurement team in responding to supplier enquiries and building relationships with suppliers and community members
- Assist in assessing data coming from the ICN market sounding process, expressions of interest and request for quotation processes
- Proactively identifying local suppliers who are yet to register/be interested in the project
- Assist in collating data for reporting back to our Client and for future Ministerial requests
- Establish clear processes/procedures for the management of suppliers from ICN to Felix or back to supplier development/Powerlink
- Support the wider Communications and Engagement Team with coordination of engagement activities and reporting of supplier liaison
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to prepare a wide variety of written communication materials for internal and external audiences.
