About the Role
In this position, you will directly report to the You will be the key person for QLD providing technical support to their customers. You will be a key point of contact as the Application Specialist based in QLD. As the Product Application Specialist, you will have extensive knowledge of their products and be responsible for the entire process, from pre-sales, installation post-sales and ongoing customer care.
The successful candidate will provide high-level technical expertise and product knowledge to assist in the sales process. You will be able to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and identify new business opportunities to continuously expand the portfolio in Brisbane, Queensland. You will be required to do the following:
- Provide high-level technical product knowledge with the ability to provide maintenance demonstration/training and support to customers within the scientific markets.
- Provide customer education and technical expertise by introducing high-end equipment products and demonstrating product features to meet customer's needs and requirements.
- Attend sales/marketing activities to engage and enhance exposure of product portfolio.
- Coordinate scheduling of other resource utilization within the Territory, including Sales, Marketing and Technical Support.
- Understand and know the scientific environment and competitor products.
- Perform routine standard procedures to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.
- Ideally, have a relevant Tertiary qualification in Science - (Life Sciences, materials sciences, physics)
- Practical knowledge in light microscopy and laser microscopy
- The ability to effectively communicate complex technical failures and methods of resolution to business partners and customers is required.
- Possess the ability to work with customers and vendors at both a business and technical level.
- Proficient in computer hardware and software repair.
- Ability to configure network devices and interface products to local networks.
- Strong Communicator - has the ability to explain technical procedures in writing or verbally.
- Ability to work independently, manage time/priorities, and maintain composure under high demand levels.
- Requires excellent systematic troubleshooting skills utilizing a structured and comprehensive process to determine the root cause and implement corrective action.
