Our client is seeking to engage a Product Configuration Technical Support Engineers on a contract for 6 months with potential extension.
- Artarmon location with some work from home flexibility
- ASAP Start, Casual contract full time 6 Months with potential extension.
- Prior experience with SAP is a must.
The role is an interface between Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing and Procurement for all products interpreting sales requirements and converting Customer (Sales) Orders into Production Orders. The target is to ensure that all products sold by the client have corresponding production orders and the products are configured to enable the effective and efficient use manufacturing and assembly resources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Timely delivery of registered and processed Work Orders Accurate and complete with a 3-day turnaround (based on due dates)
- Configure the product Bill of Materials using SAP Variant Configurator Number and impact of inaccuracies and non-compliances
- Configure customized product Bill of Materials using manual configuration Number and impact of inaccuracies and non-compliances
- Checking all Work Order deliverables and requirements are met. Complies to Work Order processing checklist
- Advise Master Data Department of information required for creation Material Masters in SAP for any special parts or parts that require certification. Incorrect or missing parts shipped to assembly - % errors and/or rework - as reported by assembly shop
- Configure Routing Operations Raise purchase requisitions for purchased items% errors and/or rework - as reported by assembly shop
- Raise purchase requisitions for purchased items% errors and/or rework - as reported by assembly shop
- Manage amendments of Work Orders Accurate and complete with a 2-day turnaround (based on due dates)
- Maintenance of the SAP Variant Configurator SAP Variant Configurator is up to date
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Mathematical: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Competences: General knowledge of Configuration Management, Engineering Processes, Inventory Management and Production Planning.
- Computer Skills: Intermediate Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet knowledge, basic word processing, experience with SAP Sales and Distribution (SD), SAP Production Planning (PP) and SAP Materials Management (MM), SAP Variant Configuration (VC) Modules.
