Job description

Job Expectations

Build your career and Australia’s future.

Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.

A fantastic opportunity at nbn, Australia’s largest infrastructure project, as the Product Delivery Manager, reporting to General Manager, Build Capability Delivery.

A bit about the role

The Operations division of nbn is accountable for the build, operations, and maintenance of the nbn network. The Build Capability Delivery team is responsible for interlocking with SEO, defining acceptance criteria, and supporting the build of IT capability, before handing it off to the release manager to ensure successful user acceptance testing.

This newly created role will be responsible for leading a team of Product Leads who manage the delivery of IT Capability for Build. You will ensure effective planning, prioritisation, delivery, governance and reporting of the Build technology portfolio/value stream.

This role will lead the governance and reporting cadence, including producing key initiative tracking, and governance packs. You will be involved in business prioritisation reviews, IT Capex prioritisation and manage the Service Owner activities within the Build Value Stream. Moreover, you will maintain contacts with various business operational units across nbn.

A bit about you

The ideal candidate will have experience in a corporate or business environment at a senior level, within a large and matrix organisation. You have strong people leadership capability and have experience as a Service Owner/Delivery Manager or Subject Matter Expert in IT project delivery and roadmap management.

You are commercially astute, agile, highly organised and have strong influencing skills. Moreover, you have a strong ability to translate technical and complex terms into clear and simple operational frameworks.

Additionally, you will possess excellent stakeholder management and analytical capabilities, with a creative and aspirational mindset.

Life at nbn

Please note that this role will be a permanent position and applications for this role will close at midnight 21st March 2023.

At nbn our people have a clear and shared purpose - empowering Australians to redefine the way they live, work and play into the future. In your personal career, you’ll benefit from technical training for professional development, leadership programs and access to the latest technology, as well as being led by a diverse executive team. nbn is committed to an inclusive, flexible and supportive workplace where everyone can feel valued, respected and have equal opportunity to thrive and succeed. We encourage applications from people of all ages, nationalities, abilities and cultures - including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, the LGBTI+ community and people living with disability.
