Responsibilities include:
Supporting the Head of Product Development, the Product Development Manager is responsible for key products and ranges and will:
Product Strategy
- Provide relevant consumer, competitor, and market insight to support the development of a relevant and competitively compelling innovation pipeline.
- Identify the unique selling points of the products and the value they offer to customers. Highlight the benefits, ingredients, formulation, efficacy, and any additional features that differentiate your products from competitors.
- Develop hero SKU & category strategies.
New Product Developments
- Propose and develop new product launch strategy and ensure alignment with relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare NPD (New Product Development) briefs in partnership with formulation team and Product & Packaging Technology (PPT).
- Responsible for PPS meeting presentations and maintaining gate process for the products.
- Manage the product pipeline across R&D, formulators, packaging, production teams to ensure OCD date and production.
- Responsible for building the product launch book, including all key claims related to the products.
Managing Existing Product Portfolio
- Optimize SKU and range performance.
- Ensure continuous improvement in the Return on New Product Development Investment.
- Manage the ongoing SKU rationalization, propose SKU deletion, new size packaging.
Pricing Monitoring
- Conduct thorough market research to understand your target audience, competitors, and industry trends. Identify the price range for similar skincare products and analyze customer preferences, demands, and purchasing power.
- Determine the production costs associated with your skincare products, to consider the desired profit margins.
Collaboration with other teams
- Effectively collaborate with R&D, formulators, packaging team, regal/legal, production
- Effectively collaborate with leaders in international operational marketing, campaigns & brand teams, visual merchandising, and creative and markets to create and deliver best in class and unique results that align to the Jurlique brand story.
- Work closely with the other Product Development Managers.
Desired skills, experience and qualification:
- Master/ degree in Product Marketing required
- Scientific background (biology, cosmetology) is a plus – Double Master (Marketing & Biology/Cosmetology) preferred
- Significant experience in Product Development in cosmetics or beauty industry, skincare preferred – 5 to 8 years
- Able to work or demonstrate experience working in a Global structure, international mindset
- Passionate about natural beauty & cosmetics
