We are truly a challenger brand, with challenger spirit.The role of Product Engineering Manager is accountable for crafting, improving and maintaining allocated Fixed Products and Services within the Optus Consumer, Optus Wholesale, Optus Business and Optus Enterprise portfolios.The role covers a wide variety of activities that help to conceptualise and create new innovative products as well as deliver a stand-out Fixed Product portfolio for all portfolios to help retain and grow Fixed market share and revenues. It provides consultancy to business partners and Product Managers across both Business and Network domains on various issues and future roadmaps for Fixed Products and Network platforms.Your day to day will consist of...
- Identify and prioritise growth opportunities to support business to meet annual growth against defined revenue, profit goals and reducing costs. Identify and present new technologies to help business conceptualise and produce new innovative products, assess technical feasibility of new insights and take part in prioritisation workshops. Represent Networks to ensure proactive and accurate engagement in various stage to provide direction on structure and relationship of Products.
- Help construct and manage the product development pipeline. Conduct and participate in Networks impact assessments, as well as the prioritisation of network resources, managing cross business unit alignment.
- Provide technical and product consultancy to various business advocates and conduct regular review of product offerings to ensure they're performing financially, operationally and delivering to the expected customer experience.
- Creation of a product and service level view across all business units as well platforms to drive cost savings, resolve issues, identify priorities, and ensure there is strategic alignment between Product and Network roadmaps.
- Develop & input into the exit strategy for legacy fixed products/platforms aligning at times competing Network and Business imperatives.
- Related qualifications in Networks Engineering, Telecommunications and Technology, plus substantial proven experience in positions requiring the exercise of creative engineering, fixed product design, marketing and/or commercial judgement.
- Excellent listening ability, influencing, verbal and written communications skills. Experienced working with, presenting to, and managing communication with Senior Managers, Directors & VPs in the business & network domains.
- Sound technical knowledge of key technology concepts specially Data, Transmission, IP and voice. Knowledge of SDN & NFV concepts is highly preferred.
- Excellent workshop and facilitation skill with ability to develop and present proposals that reflect and address customer requirements and desired business objectives.
- Excellent inter-departmental organisational and teamwork skills and ability to broker and influence peers and senior partners through demonstration of strong communications, persuasion, story telling and presentation skills.
