About the Team
You will be reporting into the Chief Engineer and work closely with the IPT Lead for the Recon and HWC variant. Working with the IPT Management team and project team you will provide technical leadership to enable delivery of the allocated vehicle variant within technical, contractual, cost and schedule constraints. This is a Full Time role and can be based from either the Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence site located in Redbank or the Melbourne office.
About the Role
As the Product Lead, you will responsible for the planning, leading and executing of the engineering activities to deliver the design, integration and to support verification, production and delivery of the Recon and HWC.
You will be collaborating closely with General Managers at the Senior Leadership Team on strategy, capability and technology development.
As the Product Lead (Recon and HWC), you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:
- Technical leadership of the Recon and HWC engineering development and the associated sub-system leads;
- Work with the IPT Leader to plan all deliverables and map all tasks/activities, priorities, and required outputs;
- Ensure that the Recon and HWC Mission System Mission System is developed in compliance to the contractual requirements;
- Support and Mentor the Engineering teams to create engineering artefacts and outputs;
- Technically manage the creation, configuration, integration and delivery of vehicle engineering outputs to meet the project plan critical path;
- Conduct technical artefact, output delivery reporting and escalate technical issues to the IPT CENG;
- Conduct project delivery progress reporting and escalation of project and delivery issues to the IPT Lead;
- Lead the design and integration, support verification and production and delivery of a vehicle variant Mission System;
- Manage and support the preparation of Engineering Outputs, Presentations and Contract Data Requirements List for all Mandated System and Development Reviews; and
- Conduct technical oversight of engineering subcontractors and/or suppliers work scope to ensure successful delivery to meet the program and project timescales.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant Engineering field (Mechanical/Electrical);
- Hands-on technical leadership of an Integrated Cross-Functional/Multi-Discipline engineering and project team;
- Experience in providing technical mentoring, operational coaching and direct management of technical teams and individual engineers;
- Demonstrated experience in development of complex military or automotive vehicles;
- Stakeholder engagement and collaboration experience;
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication, consultation and negotiation skills;
- Hold or have the ability to achieve Chartered professional engineering status with Engineers Australia (or equivalent); and
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
