Product Owner, Storage Infrastructure

About the roleThis role is a Product Owner for an engineering and support squad that delivers both production and nonproduction services, planned (PI based) work, along with various other projects over time, ranging from storage migrations, P2V activities and of course, maintenance activities and upgrades for the infrastructure we support. Note that this is a PO role and not an active technical member of support capability; No hands-on required with this role.The Product owner takes the lead on engaging with our customers (application teams and other infrastructure teams), the scheduling and prioritisation of work, along with the compliance, commercial and budget lead for the team. Although this role isn't a direct people management role, it manages the 'work around the work' of the team of 20+ engineers that are delivering these functions, both the running and maintenance of Infrastructure as well as the PI based activities that run quarter to quarter, and the PO is central to what work is undertaken. The PO also plays a central role in ensuring the delivered service is stable, compliant and that we meet the asks of our regulators, including the oversight of our controlsThe purpose of the Enterprise Compute Tech Area is to focus on the predictable, stable and efficient running of ANZ technology platforms and systems that support core systems and many other critical applications that ANZ depends on for its day-to-day operation. This role is the entry point for all Storage support and infrastructure build work, including supporting the other teams that depend on the storage services we provide.We are continuously improving our platforms, systems & patterns to support the business needs as required. The Enterprise Compute remit includes building, delivering, and operating secure platforms based on Mainframe, NonStop, Unix, iSeries as well as providing Storage and backup services, both On-Prem and increasingly in the Cloud, leveraging commonalities and proving a consistent approach to security, controls and governance.The Storage InfrastructureProduct Owner's role is to enable and inspire our multi-disciplinary Storage team ('Squad') to pursue our mission, by guiding them on 'what' work should be completed by the squad. This work includes both production and non-prod support, new and ongoing projects, migrations, and the work to enable key Lifecycle work in the Storage space. This work supports Business requirements and progressing our ongoing efforts to both modernise within our existing datacentre, migrate to new datacentres, and where appropriate, our advance into the Cloud.Within the Storage Infrastructure team, the Product Owner will also enable the team through the delivery of plans, both long and short term to ensure that we can deliver what we need, working with other closely related Product Owners to ensure required technical capabilities are scheduled appropriately, as well as managing the financial side of the Storage Infrastructure function alongside the Chapter Lead to ensure we have the budget when it's required.What will your day look likeThe Storage Infrastructure owner takes the lead non-technical role in the team, working side by side with the Release Leads, Scrum Masters, Controls team, Cloud Success Partners and other Product Owners, including our customer (application team) PO's, to position, prioritise and ultimately deliver our services through the technical team.You would work closely with the Chapter Lead who leads the technical side of our work in delivery and supportProvides vision, thought leadership and strategic intent to the teamWorks closely with the other Product Owners in CDIS (Cloud, Data and Infrastructure Services, our parent organisation), and Delivery teams on scheduling, priority management and capability preparednessContinues to deliver storage services in the cloud as required by the businessWorks with technical, architectural, cross-business teams and other ANZ Business units and teams to understand, capture and manage to the needs of the business as it relates to StorageReviews, assesses and prioritises requests and internally identified work to guide the technical teams on 'what' work should be completed by the squad with our customers at the heart of decision makingDevelops and maintains a product catalogue along with a product roadmap that identifies tactical and strategic initiatives that maximise value and time to deliveryEngages with other Product Owners and business teams to align priorities and dependenciesManage the Jira view of the book of work to ensure that at all times, we have clarity on what is coming, what is being done, what has been done, what effort was expended on the work and what work depends on other workWhilst this is not a direct line management role, the successful applicant will absolutely need to be a leader of people - taking the teams on the journey towards realising our visionRole Location: Melbourne CBDRole Type: Permanent, Full-time (40 hours per week)What will you bring?We know not everyone will bring all of the skills and experience, and at ANZ we are focused on people bringing a growth mindset to their approach to work.
