Their solutions are built for lenders, fintechs, consumer brands and mortgage brokers with their technology licensed by 17 partners across SaaS, API and white-label PaaS products. The white-label platform powers two of the largest six banks in Australia. In February and March 2023, more than $2bn applications were processed through the platform via PaaS customers.
The position
As a Product Owner at Tiimely, you will focus on coordinating the squad’s backlog while prioritising objectives to support your stakeholders and ensure the successful delivery of initiatives according to your squad’s committed schedule.
You will partner with your Product-focused stakeholders to understand user needs and create user stories utilising your ability as a Product Owner to gain deep knowledge of User Personas. This requires you to understand our FinTech business, the problems we are solving and gain an understanding of our product suite.
Representing the customer to the squad, you will provide context and understanding as the squad works on technical solution design, estimate work and operate in agile scrum sprints.
Your other responsibilities will include:
- Proactively communicate progress of initiatives, clarify scope/ priorities and communicate technical complexities, blockers, or delays effectively
- Act as a bridge between the implementation and product teams, facilitating effective communication to ensure a shared understanding of goals, priorities, and the overall vision for each unit of work.
- Assist in analysing and maturing our agile delivery workflows.
- Backlog management: Identify requirement gaps, map requirements into user stories, define acceptance criteria, and document complexities and dependencies. Ensure that ticketing systems are correct and up-to-date at all times, especially at the start and end of each sprint.
- As a part of understanding your user, educate your team and role-playing key User Personas including hands-on use of the product.
- Release notes: Document per-release changes made by the squad.
- Organise and facilitate workshops and technical discussions with developers, testers and other stakeholders.
- Identify and communicate risks, assist with release plans and address issues.
- Effectively plan and coordinate dependencies and initiatives between squads
- Participate in Program Increment (PI) planning, aligning with objectives and defining scope.
- Keep systems such as Jira & Confluence up-to-date.
The successful candidate

- Proven ability to effectively engage with stakeholders, clarify priorities, and communicate complex information.
- Strong expertise in converting requirements into user stories and defining clear acceptance criteria.
- Proficiency in Agile practices, including sprint planning, scrum ceremonies, and backlog management.
- Capability to facilitate technical discussions and collaborate with development and testing teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to proactively engage with stakeholders and report effectively.
- Adept at identifying and addressing potential challenges in software development processes and adapting to changes.
- Commitment to staying updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Have experience in Program Increment (PI) planning sessions, aligning backlog with program objectives, and defining scope.
- Ability to gather feedback and adapt the backlog for improvement during post-PI reviews.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
