Located in Ascot Vale, Victoria, we have an opportunity for an experienced Building 

Estimator to join our team.

The Building Estimators primary purpose is to support the building team in an estimating capacity for all jobs that are onsite. The role will focus on ensuring problem solving in several forms is addressed with a focus on supporting the Site Support Manager with all required related tasks.

Skill attributes

• Service and act as a point of contact for the building team 
• Reviewing ETS’s and issues from onsite job queries as they arise 
• Problem solving and creative thinking to develop ideas to prevent further ETS’s from occurring   
• Amend and change PO’s as required when changes happen within the business or industry so all jobs on site can be built productively 
• Cataloging and tracking different queries and concerns based on cost center, suppliers etc.. 
• Compete take offs and estimate all parts of a detached home to ensure correct quantities are produced from production estimating team 
• Reading and interpreting build contracts, variations house plans and engineering
• Process and review invoices from building team to ensure no double payments or errors are paid for 
• Produce hand over summary sheets to ensure a smooth transition for site files from operations team to building supervisor
• Develop assemblies for common construction issues
• Mark up plans, BOQ’s and purchase orders to identify where issues occur
• Reviewing master plan drawings, details and construction plans to identify root cause issues
• Knowledge of NCC and Australian standards building practices
• Time management skills and ability to work under pressure
• Onsite visits to inspect and investigate on site issues
• Achieve targets whilst maintaining a high standard of quality

• Construction knowledge of detached housing 
• NCC and Australian Standards 
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a strong team
• Strong relationship building skills with expertise in the effective management of diverse internal and external stakeholder groups

• Strong time management skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy 
• Minimum intermediate level computer literacy, including the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), and well as other applications (e.g. CRM software).
