About the role
Cutri Fruit requires a Production Horticulturist, this position involves management of the cultivation, growing and maintenance of our stonefruit crops and supporting managment of associated production processes.
This position is full-time, and may be required to work shifts, including weekends.
This position reports to the GM Orchards.
Ensure that all land preparations are done as per established procedures.
Prepare working programmes daily / weekly / monthly to facilitate implementation of respective tasks
Assess quality of work and take corrective actions where applicable
Ensure the upkeep of all tractors and implements
Liaise with GM Orchards / Agronomist/ Maintenance Manager where required
Operate various tractors and implements
Identify and report unusual disease or plant pest signs
Operate pressurised irrigation systems
Coordinate horticultural crop harvesting
Carrying out instructions and attending to all ancillary farming activities as directed by Management;
Ensuring a safe fruit farm working environment
Skills / Experience required (key competencies, must haves):
A proven record of skills and knowledge in agriculture/horticulture;
Have considerable experience, fundamental knowledge and skills in farm operation;
Trustworthy person who can be relied upon;
Able to analyse and solve problems
Be a responsible person who can work in a team environment;
Enthusiastic, professional attitude and understanding of the objectives of the business
Skill Level:
At least Cert III or IV or equivalent OR 3 years employment experience as a production horticulturalist with relevant formal training OR 5 years employment experience as a production horticulturalist with no formal training
  Salary being offered is between $63,000 to $75,000, dependent on experience.
