These newly created leadership roles in an advanced processing company with continuous investment in R&D to improve processes and the role will oversee plant optimisation.The Production leader for Manufacturing will be a key member of the team reporting directly to the General Manager. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, providing operational and strategic advice, managing cross functional teams and optimising manufacturing and production processes. Your experience and qualifications will support ongoing objectives through a focus on safety, quality and optimal performance of the facility. With company introduction of new processing methodologies and optimisation efficiencies, this plant will be a blueprint to spearhead growth and operational excellence in this new state of the art manufacturing plant.Responsibilities:
- Oversee plant shift operations to ensure manufacturing/production efficiency, quality, safety and profitability for the global manufacturing organisation.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and Identify and mitigate potential operational and supply chain risks.
- Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to production schedules.
- Implement best practices for quality control, safety, and sustainability in manufacturing processes.
- Ensure adequate resources (personnel, materials, equipment and training) are provided to meet the company objectives.
- Lead lean implementation and principles ensuring plants and regions are equipped with the tools, training, and resources for implementation.
- Drive a culture of quality assurance and sustainability in manufacturing, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor key performance indicators related to manufacturing efficiency, quality and safety.
- Tertiary qualifications in Chemical, Industrial, Processing, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field with relevant work experience in these fields.
- Experienced in operating chemical processing plants, metallurgical and/or mining processing plants, FMCG plants or related industries.
- Experience in leading a shift team through the plant operations to build up and full capacity
- A senior level of professional experience in manufacturing and production at a shift rotation level.
- Working knowledge and the understanding of processing and processing plant machinery and systems
- Demonstrable record of successfully delivering long-term monitoring of performance, tracking of metrics, and of driving performance improvements to manage an efficient engineering and maintenance operations.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and confidently at all levels, presenting complex technical issues and concepts in a style appropriate to the audience, and the ability to represent the organisation externally.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence, build trust, shape conversations, and change behaviours through effective relationship.
- Strong experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
