About the Role
Reporting to the Production Supervisor the Packing Shift/Line Leader is a newly created role, which will manage fruit packing and handling operations to maximise efficiency, safety and quality
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all fruit packing operations.
- Manage the recruitment process for casual production team members.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining a good work culture where team members work harmoniously, safely, productively.
- Ensure that all team members of the production team are aware of their roles and responsibilities.
- Ensure all team members are correctly trained as per company procedures and policies, by identifying and providing training for knowledge gaps as required.
- Manage and ensure the safe operation of forklifts.
- Report repairs and maintenance requirements promptly and assist in developing appropriate responses from the maintenance team.

- Assist in shutdown duties including machinery and shed maintenance

Skills and Experience:
- Forklift License
- Understanding and have commitment to staff safety and product and shed quality requirements
- Mechanical skills and a reasonable understanding of automation/machinery equipment and workings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skill with a demonstrated ability to communicate and liaise effectively with staff.
- Well developed work planning and organization skills, and demonstrated ability to address fluctuating work demands and changing priorities.
- Ability to manage and organise staff and have excellent leadership skills.
- Ability to manage and improve packing operation efficiency.
- Appropriate regard for confidential and sensitive information.
- Reasonable computer skills.
