Here we make a range of award-winning cheese for both the domestic and export markets.About the opportunityWe are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Production Manager to lead our production team at our Stanhope site. This role is critical to the success of our operations, ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards and are produced efficiently and safely.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and develop the production team to achieve operational excellence.
- Ensure all production activities comply with Fonterra's quality, safety, and environmental standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to ensure seamless production processes.
- Monitor production metrics and implement corrective actions as necessary to achieve performance targets.
- Manage budget and resources effectively to meet production goals and financial targets.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, promoting open communication, employee engagement and capability building.
- Demonstrated and proven success leading a production team within the food or dairy industry (desirable, but open minded)
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on team development, coaching and employee engagement.
- Excellent understanding of production processes, quality control, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and manage change effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to operate strategically and to put agreed plans into action
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior P&L and budget management experience
