Tanuki is a well-established importer, manufacturer and distributor of high-quality crop protection and nutrition inputs, supplying customers Australia-wide from our warehouse in Toowoomba. With strong operational capacity, field applied research, product development capabilities and a reputation for rapidly responding to customer needs, we are the supplier of choice for many of our customers. Always future-focused, we have invested in two complementary businesses, Fertec: a packaging, logistics and application business focused on micronised gypsum; and Pyrocal: an engineering business designing and building biochar production systems for global markets.
To support Tanuki’s expanding product portfolio and customer-base, we are looking for an experienced Production & Operations Manager to manage our facility and provide production support to Tanuki’s customers. The role is diverse, hands-on and encompasses working directly with customers and Tanuki’s JV partners, one of which is a site tenant. Some travel will be required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing day-to-day operations including goods in/out, manufacturing and packaging liquid fertilisers and packaging dry fertilisers
- Working with customers (onsite and remotely) to resolve production issues
- Leading a small production and warehouse team, fostering a positive work environment
- Monitoring quality assurance processes to ensure product standards are being met
- Managing the production schedule and working closely with the Supply Chain Manager
- Identifying and implementing productivity improvements
- Managing inventory and stock takes
- Ensuring safe work practices and compliance with WHS laws, regulations and requirements
- Coordinating maintenance and ensuring the warehouse is kept in a clean and well-maintained condition
- Preparing and maintaining required records and producing reports as required

Our ideal candidate:
- Proven experience in an operations management position
- Mechanical experience resolving production and plant and equipment running issues
- PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) operated plant experience
- Willingness to be hands-on
- Sound leadership capability
- Well organised with high levels of professionalism and integrity
- Up-to-date knowledge and ability to ensure WHS processes are in place and being adhered to
- Effective verbal and written communication skills ranging from the ability to trouble shoot production issues with customers to producing reports
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Legal authorisation to work in Australia with either citizenship or permanent residency
Licences and Certifications:
- Current “C” class Australian Drivers Licence
- Current forklift licence
