About this opportunity
We are seeking a results-driven and strategically minded Production Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for leading our production supervisors and team, whilst driving continuous efficiency improvements within our facility. This role will manage the Potato and Onion packing operation based in Virginia.
To be successful for the role, you will have the ability to think on your feet in a fast-paced environment. You will need to possess the skills to effectively coach and mentor the team and have the knowledge to contribute to the continual improvement of efficiencies within the production facility.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the processing facility, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure the required operational goals, objectives and KPI's are achieved.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Manage performance and development of Production Supervisors through driving a culture of discipline, teamwork, and excellence.
- Ensuring correct operation, maintenance and breakdown troubleshooting for production equipment.
- Overseeing the planning and organisation of production schedules.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure correct stock levels and rotation.
- Manage production performance and KPI's including Safety, Quality, DIFOT and productivity.
- Effectively manage communication between production, logistics, QHSE and our farming team.
Skills & Experienced
- 5+ years' experience in a Production Manager role in the FMCG environment.
- Food Manufacturing experience with short shelf life.
- Leadership experience in food production facilities.
- A proven ability to lead, mentor and develop people.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple complex tasks.
- Can adapt to the constantly evolving environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in compliance with HACCP.
